I BELIEVE THAT IN ORDER TO LEARN BETTER, COMFORT AND SELF-CONFIDENCE ARE ESSENTIAL, THAT IS WHY IN ALL MY COURSES I SHOW YOU THESE LETTERS THAT BOTHER YOU FROM BEING THERE WHILE THEY ARE NOT PRONOUNCED. THAT IS ALSO WHY I SIMPLY ASK YOU TO IMITATE ME OVER AND OVER USING A LANGUAGE THAT IS CONTRACTED SO THAT YOU WILL FEEL EMPOWERED WHEN THE TIME COMES FOR YOU TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE FRENCH.
TIPS ON LEARNING FRENCH
Here are 3 SAD beliefs that slow you down
1. I need to memorize as many words as possible
Doubt and fear
When I start to memorize that long list, what message does it send to my brain? It sends something like: I will never know enough to function in that language. Satisfaction is not guaranteed. I think it will not work when I try to have a simple conversation with someone when I get there. The doubt about my possibilities makes me want to throw the towel. Of course, knowing these words could make me feel safer for a minute until the doubt comes. The safety net that I think I created for myself vanishes very rapidly.
They will not avoid you
Do people like you more, because you know more? Sometimes yes, when you know much much more. Until you are able to have a deeper conversation, the quantity of words is not crucial. What you just want is to be able to function, build a foundation.
Make your own list
Practice the most common verbs on this blog. On top of that, you can learn words describing what you do in life. That alone could be useful to you. Not necessarily to someone else, but these words are important to you.
2. I need grammar
I know that to be understood, to communicate, I don’t need to make a perfect sentence. And in fact, recalling the grammar rules over and over makes me apprehensive to speak French. Just to believe that I need grammar is not healthy thinking if I want to speak French. To write, yes. But to speak, no.
I’ll tell you something personal. When I came to the US, I had studied English for 5 years and it took me three years to feel comfortable in a casual conversation. My French sound engineer who came not knowing a word of English, who didn’t learn any grammar, was comfortable after one year only.
This blog will help any student of French avoid this problem
3. People will not understand my French.
You think you can speak French but you can’t:
If you feel you are not understood, that means that you probably can’t speak. You think you can, but you can’t. It’s a very easy fix. It’s no use to use it as an excuse to delay the experience of talking French with the French. When you start learning French, you have to have the end result very clear in your mind. It’s rarely the case, in fact.
At a mike, in a conference situation or teaching, we don’t speak the way we speak casually between friends.
If you are not understood, it’s probably because you speak like in class. An important thing to remember: In order to understand, to make sense of what is said, you don’t need the details. But to be understood, you will need the details.
It’s not about the content, the number of words, or the grammar.
It’s about the form of the delivery. If your form of delivery is different than the one you will experience once in the situation, then your learning of French is useless. You have to have the goal in detail in your mind. Really clear. Only then you can practice the form with confidence, and relax because it’s not as demanding as learning grammar.
Aim for efficiency
You learn, memorize the words, yes, but in context, the vocabulary that you will most probably use right away. Your best choice could be to have a strategy before you start. You will not have to spend your energy on something that will slow you down anymore. Don’t give credit to actions that will delay your result. This is the best way to learn French on your own, the best way to learn French online.
This blog will do that for any student who wants to learn French and use it.

Is time important for you?
….If you typed ‘learn French fast, you are probably not a student. Students know that it will request time.
You are caught and you need to learn fast because… Most of the apps you can find on your phone will probably be useless when you land there. They just make you feel good before you take off, and that’s it. Well, if you are leaving in two weeks, it’s a little late, but it’s not without a solution…
What is your goal?
…. The important question to ask yourself is: What am I learning French for? Because most of the known programs will not help you speak and also understand and be understood. Why? Because most of them have not been created by the French. And even If the creators were actually French, they might have been intellectuals whose interest or focus is mainly to write. But you want to speak French.
The French are not the only ones who know the French language but they are the only ones who have been speaking it since birth…
