3. Learn a few sentences to get by.
Use the contracted French right from the start
I know you already thought about a few sentences as a fast way to learn French. I am sorry to let you know that it could be a very bad solution. The only way it could be helpful to you is to repeat the sentences exactly the way a French person would say them in a regular situation. That will not make you fluent in French but it’s a bandaid that you might appreciate. Use the contractions.
Don’t be confused with the sounds
When you choose a course online, check out if it’s a good program. There is an easy way. If they tell you that the pronunciation of the French letter ‘é’ is ‘A-Y’ or the first part of that sound, then they are wrong and you cannot trust them. Learn French to speak it first
Most of the known programs will not help you speak and also understand and be understood. Why? Because most of them have not been created by the French. And even If the creators were actually French, they might have been intellectuals whose interest or focus is mainly to write. But you want to speak French.
The French are not the only ones who know the French language but they are the only ones who have been speaking it since birth. They know how they learned French and they know how they speak it. At least they should.

Grammar exercises or quiz will only make you focus on mistakes. They will make you self-conscious, ignorant, and you will give up.
What is most challenging when you learn French online is to learn with your guts. Have you ever heard that? Things you memorize forever in your life are things you have felt in your guts.
To feel in the guts, understand that the reception is in your brain. When you breathe deeply, freely, it goes down, passes the heart where you feel with affection, and goes down where you memorize. This is generally not used, even in class. But in class, you must speak out loud. You don’t have to do this at home and who does it? I always remind people to repeat out loud.
